The Indspire Awards (until 2012 the National Aboriginal Achievement Awards) were established in 1993 in conjunction with the United Nations’ “International Decade of the World’s Indigenous Peoples” to celebrate and encourage excellence in the Aboriginal community. After 30 years, 420 outstanding First Nations, Inuit, and Métis individuals have been honoured for their inspiring accomplishments.

(Formally the National Aboriginal Achievement Awards)
Since joining the Indspire family in 2008, B.Agency has played an integral role in enhancing the annual celebration of Indigenous achievement. Having celebrated its 30th Anniversary, B.Agency established a ceremonial Open for the 2023 Indspire Awards that reflected on its past with honour, and shined a light on its accomplishments, then and now.
B.Agency has explored and creatively represented the spirit of indigenous culture and its significant contribution to Canada’s cultural landscape for well over a decade. With such a diverse range of regional nations and tribes, B.Agency has worked closely with the Indspire team leaders to craft creative visions that have ranged from 2D composited treatments to fully immersive 3D environments bursting with symbolism and vibrant colour, and uniquely crafted show elements and set graphics that reflect the rich and diverse nature of our nation’s indigenous culture.
In 2021, the live performance gala pivoted to become a pre-recorded presentation. Upon receiving the approved edit, B.Agency was responsible for motion tracking 18’ worth of green-screen footage, and keying a total of 127 wide-, mid- and close-range camera shots; using Cinema 4D and Adobe AfterEffects respectively. This post-production process required stabilizing camera sweeps and defining finer details that were expectedly lost on wide-angled shots. These finer details were imperative to the overall cohesive visual as they were augmented by the reflective glass/mirror floor. The nebula-sensible dream scape environments were further developed and tailored to each recipient‘s award presentation.
“For an impressive 15-year partnership, I had the privilege of collaborating with B.Agency during my tenure as the Artistic Director and Executive Producer for the Indspire Awards, North America’s only Indigenous live broadcast awards gala. Boyan and Abi consistently demonstrate an inparalled vision and an unwavering commitment to excellence. Their work is marked by precision and an exceptional attention to detail. And they consistently uphold their creative integrity, even in the fact of formidable challenges. B.Agency was an integral part of the show’s remarkable success.”
